So I pulled out everything I could find that said Christmas to me.
1 can jellied cranbrries
Orange Marmalade
Grand Marnier
Cinnamon Sticks
1 winesap apple
Nutmeg
Empty the can of jellied cranberries in a medium pot, add one peeled, cored and cut up the apple, one cinnamon stick, 1 tablespoon orange marmalade, 1 ounce of Grand Marnier, and 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg. Heat over medium-low heat until the jellies have broken down. Let them hang out so the flavors can marry, at least 20 minutes.
If soup isn't your thing or if you're looking for a change of pace,
then this is the ticket...gooey, double cream brie with smoked turkey and a side of warm Grand Marnier Cranberries and Apples. (I put a little EVOO on the bread instead of butter or margarine...makes whole lot of difference.)
Just doing what I do, passing along the good stuff!
Now, do I bath in that vat of sauce or eat it? Cause I could happily go either way here.
ReplyDeleteVery creative. That sandwich looks awesome too.
ReplyDeleteI like jellied cranberry sauce and have been thinking that you could do more with it thruout the year.
Thanks for giving me ideas!
Oh a brie panini with turkey - heaven. And those cranberries and apples - I have all the ingredients.... do I need to make dinner, too?
ReplyDeleteGuess what hubby is having for dinner? Thanks for the idea since I am still not feeling well... I wish I could drown my cold in Grand Marnier right now, hold the cranberries and apples please :)
ReplyDeleteI love grand marnier too~ good in cakes and desserts.
ReplyDeleteThat looked like a perfect sandwich for tonight!

ReplyDeleteOh, YUM! I'd like to drizzle that yummy cranberry concoction right over that delicious panini. Wow, what a combination!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a creative little sauce. Who can beat Grand Marnier? I wish you a very Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteTerrific! Reminds me a little of one of my favorite open face sandwiches: brie with turkey and apple butter. Now I can try your Grand Marnier cranberries instead of apple butter AND make it a panini, which I love.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very Christmassy chutney! It looks very good!
ReplyDeleteI'm just so overwhelmed this week that I can't think up anything! I made ice cream with jellied cranberry sauce last year. It was wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWow! This is impressive pull-together meal. The side dish really looks tasty.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds delish!!
ReplyDeleteThat looks really good. I like your use of the jellied cranberry sauce. I never buy the stuff because I can never think of something creative to do with it. This is perfect!

Look at you!!! So creative. Yes, all of these items scream Christmas. The sandwiches look beautiful. I made some panini's a couple of weeks ago, the photos were so horrible I didn't write about it. The bread I used just didn't hold up and they were a gooey mess. Merry Christmas
ReplyDeleteYeah so you definitely can't go wrong with grand marnier and double cream brie in one meal. These are basically two of my favorite things. Amazing dinner.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delicious combo! I could go for this anytime!
ReplyDeleteOh my GOSH does that look amazing. Oh yeah, just slide one of those over my way!
ReplyDeleteJust popping in to wish you a Merry Christmas!
